THICKER COINS, HEFTIER GRADES

coin Giving Thick Coins The Honor They Deserve

Greetings, this is Theodore Nichols. Welcome to the web page for my thick coin grading service.

NOTICE: Grading services are temporarily suspended as I develop a new encapsulation Method

Why TCGS

People ask why start a grading service when there are so many to choose from. Or why should we use your service instead of the others.

The TRUTH is that ALL of the other grading services are either unable or unwilling to grade or encapsulate Thick Coins, namely, the Thnickel.

When it comes to hefty coins, these supposed Services are either:

Other Services

The table below tracks the current known services and their Positions on Thick Coins:

ServiceStatusNotes
ANACSUNEQUIPPEDA representative has stated, "Unfortunately, we do not have a holder this big for these coins."
IGCUNEQUIPPEDThis service does not have an Oversize holder.
NGCINTIMIDATEDNGC claims to grade all manner of coins, tokens, and medals, and advertises an Oversize holder big enough for Thnickels. Yet they reject submitted coins with the following reason: "Ineligible because we do not have a holder to accommodate these medals/tokens."
PCGSBIGOTEDA representative has stated, "We do not grade thickels [sic]." Note the flat refusal without reason. Also note the misspelling (possible Intentional Disrespect?)

Specimen Catalog

Here is a catalog of all Coins we have graded.

The Grades

TCGS uses a standard 70-point scale to determine the Heftiness of the coin:

ABBR.Grade
PA
0-9
Paper thin
Unfit to be called Coins. An embarassment to the numismatic realm
PT
10-19
Pathetically thin
Technically Coins, but just barely
TH
20-29
Thin
Very clearly coinage of some sort, albeit thin and lightweight
AH
30-39
Almost hefty
Some potential, but still lacking substance
HE
40-49
Hefty
Firm and solid, somewhat satisfying. Perhaps not very Dangerous
VH
50-59
Very hefty
Satisfyingly substantial. Excellent self-defense potential
MH
60-70
Massively hefty
Unprecedented thickness and Weight. Awe-inspiring heft
